This is exactly what the firefighters' leaders have been predicting. Boris Johnson and Coleman seem hell bent on conflict. I suppose they think that union bashing wins votes - perhaps they should stop to consider the fact that the vast majority of people in London support their firefighters, and today's news is only going to strengthen this support.
